A quick, flavorful, and satisfying dish, this Onion Beef Fried Rice combines tender beef, caramelized onions, and perfectly seasoned rice for a delicious meal in under 30 minutes!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
- 1/2 lb beef (thinly sliced, such as flank steak or sirloin)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for marinating)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for seasoning)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 2 green onions (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:

Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, toss the thinly sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Cook the Beef:
- Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from the pan and set aside.

Sauté the Onions & Garlic:
- In the same pan, add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon oil.
- Sauté the sliced onions until soft and slightly caramelized (3-4 minutes).
- Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

- Push the onions to one side of the pan and pour in the beaten eggs.
- Scramble until just cooked, then mix with the onions.

Stir-Fry the Rice:
- Add the cooked rice and break up any clumps.
- Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and sugar.
- Mix well to evenly coat the rice with the seasonings.

- Return the cooked beef to the pan and mix everything together.
- Stir-fry for 2 more minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
